*** RACE NIGHT  ***

It was great to catch up with so many of you at our race night at the Cambridge raceway in mid May!

We hope you had a fun evening!

MAY 2021

*** HEIFER TEAT SEALING ***

It's time to book in your heifer teat sealing. The benefits of heifer teat sealing are widely known and if your heifer mastitis cases in the spring tally to >8% there is an economic benefit to sealing 4-6 weeks prior to calving.

We work with a small team of experienced technicians and use sedation to ensure the job can be performed as quickly and safely as possible for both the heifers and the humans involved!

Contact one of the team today to get your heifers booked in.

APRIL 2021

***DRYING OFF***

It's time to get your dry cow consult booked in and make a plan with us for drying off this season.

As a starting point take a look at this best practice drying off video made by Zoetis and let us know if any of your staff could do with a training refresher.

***FACIAL ECZEMA***

Just like that it's spore counting season again!

Regional spore count information is now updated weekly and can be found at the Cambridge practice. However, our advice surrounding spore counting remains the same - regional counts are only A GUIDE and conditions vary hugely from farm to farm and even paddock to paddock on your own farm, so bringing in some fresh grass samples from your own paddocks is the way to go.

For more information about Facial Eczema have a read of our guides and for more specific advice please speak to one of the vets.

We look forward to working with you all in 2021!

NOVEMBER 2020

*** NEW DRENCH ON THE MARKET ***

Alleva animal health has released a new drench for calves called TURBO Initial. The product is an oral dual action wormer combined with a coccidiosis treatment - the first of it's kind! As an added bonus it also contains selenium and cobalt! It is able to be given to calves from 100kg in weight and with the inclusion of a drug that fights coccidiosis may be a good choice for some of you as calves move off meal containing a coccidiostat.

Speak to one of the vets to find out if Turbo Initial is suitable as part of your drenching protocol
